Adding users

You can add new users and then assign roles that grant them access to IBM® Incentive Compensation Management (ICM).

Procedure

  1. Click the model name in the header of the application.
  2. Click Model Options.
  3. You can click All Users or click a model name. Choosing a model allows you to associate a role with the user.
  4. Click Add User.
  5. Type the first and last name for the user and click Done.
  6. Type all required information for the user.
    Tip: For more information on SAML 2.0 integration, see the IBM Incentive Compensation Management Installation and Configuration Guide.
  7. Type a password for the user.
    Note: The following rules apply when creating passwords for admin web application users:
    • Passwords must have a minimum of eight characters.
    • Passwords must contain at least two of the following character groups: letter, number, punctuation, special characters.
    • Passwords cannot be the same as the UserID.
    • Passwords expire in 90 days
    • The history limit is eight for on Cloud and thirteen for on Premise. To configure password settings for on Premise installations, see the IBM Incentive Compensation Management Installation and Configuration Guide.
    • The number of failure attempts before users are locked out of the admin web application is five.
    These rules cannot be changed by end users.
  8. If you selected a model to add the user to, from the User Role drop-down list, select the role for the user.
  9. You can choose one of the following user permissions:
    Note: These are permissions for the tenant and not for any specific model.
    Permission Description
    All permissions This gives the user permission to add and delete users, assign and remove users from models, and change other users' passwords.
    Add and delete users in models This gives the user permission to add and delete users, and assign and remove users from models.
    No permissions This prevents the user from adding or modifying users.
  10. Click Finish.

Locking users

Lock a user, which prevents them from logging in to the administrative client.

Before you begin

To lock or unlock a user, you must have permission to view and edit Admin Options.

Procedure

  1. From the home page, click the model name.
  2. Click Model Options.
  3. Hover over the user you want to lock or unlock and click the Lock icon.
  4. Confirm your action.
