Configuring Rational Asset Manager Version 7.1.0.1 or 7.1.1

Before you can use Rational® Asset Manager Version 7.1.0.1 or 7.1.1 to store business process management assets, you must import asset model that is required for it to function as an asset repository for WebSphere® Business Modeler.

Before you begin

In order to configure Rational Asset Manager Version 7.1.0.1 or 7.1.1 you must have installed Rational Asset Manager Toolkit. If you have not done this, you use Installation Manager to modify the IBM® WebSphere Business Modeler Version 6.2 package and include the Asset repository client feature.

To configure Rational Asset Manager for use as an asset repository for WebSphere Business Modeler:

Procedure

  1. Log into the Rational Asset Manager web client as an administrator. The default URL syntax is http://host:port/com.ibm.ram.repository.web/home.faces
  2. Click the Administration tab to open the Administration page.
  3. In the Repository Administration options, select Tools to open the Tools page.
  4. In the Import and Export Model section of the Tools page, click Browse and locate the repository profile, profile_7.0.0.000.zip, which is located in the repositoryProfiles folder where you installed WebSphere Business Modeler. If you installed WebSphere Business Modeler using the default settings, the location is C:\Program Files\IBM\WBModeler7\repositoryProfile\profile_7.0.0.000.zip
  5. Click Import.
  6. On the Library Import Summary page, click Import and Replace.

What to do next

After you carry out this task, you can use Rational Asset Manager with any of WebSphere Business ModelerIntegration Designer, or IBM Business Monitor development toolkit. You do not need to reconfigure Rational Asset Manager for each of these products.
