Viewing monitor model version general properties

You can use the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console to view the general properties of a version of a monitor model.

Before you begin

Before you begin this task, you must log in to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.

About this task

Complete the following steps to view the model-version general properties:

Procedure

  1. From the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, click Applications > Monitor Models.
  2. Click the version of the model you want to view. The general properties of this monitor model are then displayed. These properties are described in the following table.
    Property Description
Model Identifies the monitor model selected.
Version Identifies the specific version of the monitor model selected.
Application Specifies the application associated with the selected monitor model.
Event consumption mode The event consumption mode is a combination of the state of the monitor model and the transport type. Monitor models have one of the following event consumption modes:
    • CreateNewInstances: Events are processed and new monitoring context instances can be created as a result.
    • UpdateExistingInstancesOnly: Events for existing monitoring context instances are processed, but events that would create new root monitoring context instances are ignored.
    • InactiveSaveEvents: Events are saved for a future monitor model version to process. The events are not processed by the current monitor model version.
    • Inactive: Events are not distributed to this monitor model version.
Active MC instances Specifies the number of active monitoring-context instances currently being processed by this version of the monitor model. If you have deployed a new version of a monitor model, you can remove the older version without any associated data loss when this number reaches zero for the older version of the model.
Deployment Displays the status of each configuration step. A check mark indicates that the step has been completed. An X indicates that an error has occurred. To complete a step, select the appropriate link under Version Properties.
