Exporting IBM Cognos BI cubes

Use the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console to export IBM® Cognos® BI cubes.

Before you begin

Before you begin this task, you must log in to the WebSphere Application Server administrative console.

About this task

This task exports the cube package XML files into a compressed file. Cube package XML files can then be opened in the IBM Cognos BI Framework Manager tool, so that the cube definitions can be extended or altered.

To export IBM Cognos BI cubes, complete the following steps:

Procedure

  1. In the WebSphere Application Server administrative console, click Applications > Monitor Models.
  2. Click the version of the model whose IBM Cognos BI cubes you want to export.
  3. Click Manage Cognos Cubes.
  4. Click Export.
