Deprecated, stabilized and removed features in IBM MQ 9.2.0
A number of features are deprecated, stabilized or removed from IBM® MQ 9.2.0.

Deprecated features
- Deprecation: Secure Sockets Layer v3 (SSLv3) and TLS 1.0
- For Long Term Support, Secure Sockets Layer v3 (SSLv3) and TLS 1.0 have been deprecated from IBM MQ 9.2.0. This means that IBM MQ 9.2.0 is the last release to provide SSLv3 and TLS 1.0 support for Long Term Support.
- Deprecation of support for -credentialsFile parameter
- The -credentialsFile parameter of the fteObfuscate command, used in IBM MQ prior to IBM MQ 9.2, has been deprecated. You can use the -f parameter instead. For more information, see fteObfuscate: encrypt sensitive data.
- Deprecation of support for all Managed File Transfer environment variables beginning with FTE
- Support for all Managed File Transfer environment variables that
begin with FTE has been deprecated. You can substitute FTE
environment variables with those that begin with BFG as shown in the following
examples:
- For FTE_ANT_HOME, substitute BFG_ANT_HOME
- For FTE_CLASSPATH, substitute BFG_CLASSPATH
- FTE_JVM_PROPERTIES, substitute BFG_JVM_PROPERTIES
- For FTE_JAVA_HOME, substitute BFG_JAVA_HOME
- Deprecation of Dashboard Web Console
- The old widget-based Dashboard Web Console is now deprecated. The New Web Console is enabled by default, although you can switch back to the Dashboard Web Console if required. See Switching between console types.
- Deprecation of XMS .NET Multicast messaging (using RMM)
- XMS .NET Multicast messaging (using RMM) was deprecated from IBM MQ 9.2 and will be removed in a future release of XMS .NET.
Stabilized features
- Stabilization: amqmdnet.dll library
- From IBM MQ 9.2.0, the amqmdnet.dll library for .NET Framework is still supplied, but this library is stabilized; that is, no new features will be introduced into it.
- Stabilization: IBM.XMS.* libraries
- From IBM MQ 9.2.0, all the IBM.XMS.* libraries are still supplied, but these libraries are stabilized; that is, no new features will be introduced into them.
Removed features
- Removal of support for the Oracle Solaris operating system
- Support for Solaris for all IBM MQ components, including server and clients, is removed from IBM MQ 9.2.
- Removal of Postcard application and Default Configuration wizard
- The Postcard application and its supporting Default Configuration wizard, which were used in earlier versions of IBM MQ for installation verification and were deprecated from IBM MQ 9.1.0, are removed from the product at IBM MQ 9.2.0.
- Removal of IBM MQ support for Microsoft Active X
- From IBM MQ 9.0, support for Microsoft Active X is deprecated, and is removed from the product at IBM MQ 9.2.0. IBM MQ classes for .NET are the recommended replacement technology. For more information, see Developing .NET applications.
- Removal of queue sharing group samples not using Universal Table Spaces
- The queue sharing group samples for setting up a Db2® environment that did not use Universal Table Spaces have been removed, following their deprecation in IBM MQ 9.1. The following JCL members have been removed: CSQ45DTS, CSQ45DSG, CSQ45DDB, CSQ45CTS, CSQ45CTB, CSQ45CSG, CSQ45CDB.
- Removal of the IPT Administration Client
- The IPT Administration Client graphical user interface has been removed. Previous versions of the IPT Administration Client cannot be used with MQIPT in IBM MQ 9.2.0. To configure and administer MQIPT, edit the mqipt.conf configuration file and use the mqiptAdmin command, as described in Administering MQIPT by using the command line.
- IBM MQ service provider for IBM z/OS® Connect EE no longer shipped with IBM MQ
- The IBM MQ service provider for IBM z/OS Connect EE is no longer shipped as part of the IBM MQ product. From IBM z/OS Connect EE 3.0.21 the IBM MQ service provider has been shipped as part of the IBM z/OS Connect EE product and provides enhanced capabilities compared to the version of the service provider shipped with the IBM MQ product.
- Removal of IBM MQ Bridge to blockchain component
- The IBM MQ Bridge to blockchain is deprecated across all releases from November 22 2022 (see US Announcement letter 222-341). For Long Term Support, IBM MQ Bridge to blockchain is removed at IBM MQ 9.2.0 CSU 21.
