Inventory transactions

Inventory transactions are used to track the quantities and movements of inventory items.

Transaction records are created by the applications that interface with the inventory system, such as Purchasing, Receiving, and Task Management. You can also create transactions from actions on inventory items.

Inbound transactions include receipts, transfers, adjustments, and items added through cycle counts and returns. Outbound transactions include issues, transfers, adjustments, and items removed through cycle counts.

After the transaction is posted, the quantity is reset to the new value, and you can view the transaction in the associated inventory item record.
