Each component of the IBM® Security
SiteProtector System has specific hardware and software requirements.
The tables in the System Requirements topics include entries for
the following configurations:
- SiteProtector Baseline refers
to requirements for the main SiteProtector System.
- IBM Security Network
Protection refers to requirements for editing policies for the IBM Security Network
Protection appliances. Policy editing requires Internet Explorer V9
and later, which is supported only by specific Microsoft operating systems.
- SP800-131A refers to requirements for strict (SP800-131A)
encryption as defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology
(NIST). Strict encryption requires Transport Layer Security (TLS)
V1.2, which is supported only by Internet Explorer V8 and later. Only
specific Microsoft operating
systems support Internet Explorer V8 and later.
Important: Installing some of the SiteProtector components
requires you to use the 8dot3 naming convention
in the Windows file system
registry settings. You must re-enable any short names that are currently
disabled in the registry settings on any servers on which you plan
to install SiteProtector components.
Note: The SiteProtector System does not support the Resilient File
System (ReFS) available with Windows Server 2012 Standard.
