Installing on IBM Z

Follow these instructions to install Copy Services Manager on IBM Z.

About this task

To install Copy Services Manager, follow these steps:
  1. Ensure that your system meets the minimum software and hardware requirements. See Prerequisites for IBM Z.
  2. Verify that you have the latest z/OS® APARs, updates, and PTFs needed to support Basic HyperSwap®. Use either the Technical help database for Mainframe Preventive Service Planning buckets website at http://www14.software.ibm.com/webapp/set2/psearch/search?domain=psp or the Enhanced PSP Tool or ServiceLink.
  3. Install Copy Services Manager with SMP/E.
    1. Configure jobs
    2. Run jobs without errors

    For detailed installation instructions, see the IBM Copy Services Manager for z Systems® Program Directory or the IBM Copy Services Manager Basic Edition for z Systems Program Directory. See Publications and related information for more details on where to find these directories.

  4. Complete the postinstallation steps for z/OS.
    1. Configure the IWNRACF, IWNINSTL, and IWNSRV jobs. Optionally, you can also configure the IWNAUTH job. See Configuring the IWNRACF jobs, Configuring the IWNINSTL job, Configuring the IWNSRV job, and Configuring the IWNAUTH job for more detailed information.
    2. Run the IWNINSTL installation job with no errors.
  5. Start the Copy Services Manager graphical user interface (GUI) as described in Installing on distributed systems, step 11.
