Supported operating systems
With IBM Spectrum Protect™ Version 8.1, you can install the server on an IBM® AIX®, Linux on System z®, Linux x86_64, or a Microsoft Windows operating system. To take advantage of new product features, install IBM Spectrum Protect V8.1 on one of the supported operating systems.
Support for the following operating systems is discontinued:
- HP-UX
- Linux on Power Systems™ (big endian)
- Oracle Solaris
