Analyzing your applications

You can use the WebSphere® Application Server administrative console Analyze option or wsadmin Migration commands to generate migration reports that help you modernize enterprise applications. The reports indicate which IBM® platforms support technologies that are used by your applications, identify potential migration issues, inventory the content and structure of your applications, and list features to include in a Liberty server configuration file.

• Generate migration reports for one or more enterprise applications.
  • Use Analyze buttons on the console enterprise application collection page to configure and run a scanner that generates a migration report.
  • Run the wsadmin AdminTask.createMigrationReport command to run the scanner and create a migration report.
• View a migration report.

  Application Migration Report shows a sample report and describes its content. A report provides information that can help you modernize an application and migrate it to a Liberty server.

• View a scan status.
  • See Liberty report icons on the console.
  • Run the wsadmin AdminTask.getMigrationSummary command.
• Delete a migration report.
  • On the console enterprise application collection page, select the application with the report to delete and click Analyze > Delete report.
  • Run the wsadmin AdminTask.deleteMigrationReport command.
