Change the hierarchy

You can change the hierarchy that's being used in your report.

If your dimension contains multiple hierarchies, you can use the set editor or Cube Viewer to change the hierarchy that's being used in your report. For example, if you're working with an Exploration View, you can edit sets and use members from another hierarchy if the dimension that the Exploration View uses contains alternate hierarchies.

You can change the hierarchy for all members of an Exploration View and for context members of a Quick Report.

  1. Open the set editor or Cube Viewer.
  2. Click the hierarchy name to open the Select hierarchy menu.
  3. Select the hierarchy which contains the set and members that you want to use in your report.
Note: You may notice that some hierarchies cannot be selected. Disabled selections indicate that the hierarchy is currently in use in your active report. You can only change to a hierarchy that is not in use in your report.
  4. Click Apply and close.

After you click Apply and close, your report is automatically refreshed to reflect the change in hierarchies.
