Use this procedure to install Streams Studio on the same Linux system as the IBM®
Streams product.
Before you begin
Restriction: Streams Studio
for local development is not supported on IBM
Power Systems™ that are running little endian. An
alternative is to set up Streams Studio
for remote development.
About this task
You can install
Streams Studio by
using the following methods:
- Domain Manager
- Streams Console
- Streams Studio installation
package for Linux
Procedure
- To use the Domain Manager, complete the following steps:
- Open the Domain Manager.
- In the Additional Tasks section, click Install, develop and run streams applications
in Streams Studio. The installation wizard guides you through the installation process.
- To use the Streams Console, complete the following steps.
Important: You can download the Streams Studio package file from a
resource that has the main installation package installed. Before
downloading, ensure that the web management service is running on the resource, or an error message is displayed. You can use the streamtool
getdomainstate command to verify that the service is running.
- Open the Streams Console.
- Click the Downloads icon and select Download Streams Studio
for Linux.
- Extract the contents of the StreamsStudio.tar.gz file into your Streams Studio installation directory.
- To start Streams Studio, enter the following
command:
Studio-installation-directory/streamsStudio -clean
- To use the Streams Studio installation
package for Linux:
- Extract the contents of the following file into your Streams Studio installation
directory:
product-installation-root-directory/4.3.0.0/etc/StreamsStudio/StreamsStudio.tar.gz
where
product-installation-root-directory is the root directory
for the IBM
Streams product
installation.
- To start Streams Studio,
enter the following command:
Studio-installation-directory/streamsStudio -clean
