Compiling IBM Operational Decision Manager rules into SPL

You can use IBM® Streams Studio to create IBM Operational Decision Manager rules. You can then convert the rules to an IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) composite and use them for real-time analysis in IBM Streams.

About this task

To create ODM rules, you must complete the following tasks:

  1. Creating and managing rules
    To create rules in Streams Studio, you must create a rules project, create a business object model (BOM), and then add rules that you want to execute in real-time in your IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) application.
  2. Converting rules to SPL
    After you create IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) rules, you can convert the rules to IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) from the command-line or from Streams Studio.
  3. Using the generated artifacts from an ODM to SPL conversion
    The artifacts that are generated when you convert your IBM Operational Decision Manager (ODM) rules to IBM Streams Processing Language (SPL) vary depending on the options that you specify when you convert the rules to SPL.
  4. Updating rules at runtime
    You can optionally change the logic of the rules in your application without restarting your stream processing application.
