IBM Streams 4.2.1

Starting an instance

You can start an instance in Streams Studio.

About this task

You need to log in to a started instance to view or submit jobs, get logs, open the Streams Console, or view metrics.

Procedure

  1. To start an instance, right-click on the instance.
  2. From the menu, select Start Instance.

If multiple versions of IBM® Streams are installed, you can select which version to run on the instance. This might be required, for example, because an application needs to run on a specific product version. You can check the active product version in the instance's Properties view.

You can select to have the instance started in the background.

  3. To view progress on the start instance command, open the Streams Studio Console view.
  4. When an instance starts successfully, the instance state indicates that it is running and additional commands are available when you right-click on the instance.
