This topic describes how to install or update Rational Team Concert™ Client
with this product.
About this task
IBM® Rational Team Concert Client,
Version 1.0 is included as an integrated feature that you can select
to install at the same time you install the product. (You can add
this feature later by using the Modify wizard in IBM Installation Manager.)
If you update Rational® Software Modeler,
any updates for Rational
Team Concert Client, Version 1.0, that might be included with
the product update, will be applied.
You can also install Rational Team Concert Client
obtained from the jazz.net Web site into your product Package Group;
it is not necessary that you install the Rational Team Concert Client
feature provided with the product. If you enabled the Rational Team Concert Client
feature when you installed your product, and later you install Rational Team Concert Client
into the same package group, the latest version of Rational Team Concert will
take effect. For example, if you install Rational Team Concert Client
2.0 on top of Rational Software Modeler,
you will get Rational
Team Concert Client 2.0 functionality.

Now, you can access Rational Team Concert Client
views and perspectives from within your existing product workspace.
Note: If
the product is shell-shared (shares a package group) with a product
that included a newer version of Rational Team Concert, the
shell-shared products will both use the latest version of Rational Team Concert Client.
For example, if Rational Functional
Tester V8.1, which has Rational
Team Concert Client 2.0, is installed with
Rational Software Modeler,
that has Rational
Team Concert Client 1.0, both shell-shared products will automatically
use Rational Team
Concert Client 2.0. If you need to use an earlier version of
Ration Team Concert (version 1.0 in the example) you need to:
- Uninstall the version of the shell-shared product that included
the latest version of Rational
Team Concert Client. (In the example, uninstall Rational Functional Tester V8.1.)
- Reinstall the earlier version of Rational Team Concert Client
in the product that provided it. (In the example, run the Modify wizard
and add the Rational
Team Concert Client 1.0 feature in Rational Software Modeler.)
