Preparing for IBM Multicloud Manager installation

Before you install IBM Multicloud Manager, review the system requirements and port information to prepare your cluster. After you prepare your clusters, see the IBM Multicloud Manager configuration overview for more configuration information for both the hub and managed cluster. See Importing a target managed cluster to the IBM Multicloud Manager hub cluster for information about importing managed clusters.

System Requirements

IBM Cloud Private requirements are found in the IBM Cloud Private product documentation at System requirements.

For IBM Multicloud Manager, you need at least the following values:

See the following minimum requirements for your IBM Multicloud Manager hub cluster:

As you add more clusters, your resiliency requirements increases. To help determine the amount of capacity that you need for small, medium, or large environments, see Sizing your IBM Cloud Private cluster.

Required ports

See the following list of required ports that must be available for bidirectional communication between your hub cluster and managed cluster.

Port access types

External - port must be open to allow connections from outside the cluster.
