Updates for September 2019

Updates to Maximo® EAM SaaS include the ability to create service requests as a guest user and to monitor license use. Enhancements for the Work Execution, Work Supervision, and Manage Assets Work Centers are also included.

Service request configuration for guest users

You can give access to guest users to create service requests in the Service Request tool.

In the Service Request Configuration page of the Administration Work Center, you can specify access for guest users by company domain name or by email address to grant URL access to create service requests. To grant guest access, you must have permission to do so. In the Security Groups application, go to the Applications tab and select Administration Work Center. Select the Grant Access check box for the View Service Request Configuration option.

You can also set default values for service requests that are created in Work Centers.

More signature options for Work Execution and Work Supervision Work Centers

To give administrators improved control over access to data and applications, more signature options are available for the Work Execution and Work Supervision Work Centers. By default, in this release, the signature option for assignments is not enabled in the security template for supervisors. If necessary, administrators can enable the option manually.

Ability to enter meter readings for multiple assets in the Work Execution Work Center

On the Details page in the Work Execution Work Center, technicians can enter meter readings for assets that are associated with work orders.

Manage Assets Work Center

The following features are added to the Manage Assets Work Center in this production update:
Ability to configure automatic numbering for assets and locations
Administrators can configure the product to automatically generate an incremented identifier that uniquely identifies each asset or location record. When a user creates a record, the identifier field begins with the seed value that is specified as a starting point. Each time a record is added, the autonumber is incremented by one.

Enhancements to the product tour
The tour is streamlined and offers more flexible options for viewing.

Bar code scanning in the Manage Inventory Work Center

Bar code scanning is now available in more locations in the Manage Inventory Work Center. Clerks can scan a bar code to locate a record when reviewing an item list, storeroom balances, storeroom physical counts, counts to reconcile, and reservations.
