Installing the Android mobile test client

This section describes three different ways to install the mobile test client for Android. With the first method you can install and configure the client in one step. With the second and third methods, you must configure the client after the installation is complete.
Method 1
Connect the mobile test client to the test workbench with a USB cable and use the USB Controller and the Android silent mode installation feature to install and configure the mobile test client. Because Android silent mode enables unattended installations, you can use this method in test automation scenarios and in cases where the USB Controller and the test workbench are hosted on different computers. With this method, a WiFi or cellular connection between the mobile test client and the test workbench is not required, making this method especially suitable in secure environments. See Installing and configuring the Android client with the USB Controller for details.
Method 2
Download the mobile test client installer and then run the installer. This method requires a WiFi or cellular connection between the mobile test client and the test workbench. See Installing the Android client manually for details. When this is complete, you can then configure the mobile test client. See Configuring the mobile test client for Android for details.
Method 3
Connect the mobile test client to the workbench with a USB cable and use the Android Debug Tool (adb) to install the mobile test client. This method does not require a WiFi or cellular connection and can be considered an alternative to method 1. When installation is complete, you must then configure the mobile test client. See Installing the Android client with the Android Debug Bridge (adb) for details.
