By normalizing the location of IBM® Rational® Integration Tester assets
in HP Quality Center, multiple users can access the same resources
locally.
Procedure
- Select a folder in your file system where all projects
are to be created, maintained, and checked out.
- Share this common root folder by using normal Windows file sharing. Read-only access is
all that is required.
- Map a network drive to this folder. Use an agreed-upon
letter for the drive that does not create conflicts for any potential
other users, such as Q: (for Quality Center).
Note: The
term "network drive" is a misnomer in this case, as you are mapping
a local drive.
- In HP Quality Center, when you configure a Rational Integration Tester test, you must
specify a project location. Use the mapped drive (Q: in the example)
to point to the project you want to link to.
- Other users must map a drive to the same folder, using
the same drive letter, and link to projects by referencing that drive
letter.
Results
All users can now see a performance increase because they
access the resources locally. All HP Quality Center linked tests are
also run locally through the mapped drive.
