Choosing an installation option
IBM Watson Machine Learning for z/OS consists of integrated systems and services and offers you flexibility in terms of where you want to install them. You must carefully assess various installation options and choose one that meets your enterprise machine learning needs and performance goals.
Installation option 1: Installing and running all machine learning
services, including scoring and model management services, on z/OS®.- Installation option 2: Installing and running scoring services on
z/OS and model management services on
Linux on Z. You can configure your
cluster with one or three nodes (s390x 64-bit servers) that run Red Hat
or Ubuntu
Linux.
- Installation option 3: Installing and running scoring services on
z/OS and model management services on
Linux. You can configure your
cluster with one or three nodes (x86 64-bit servers) that runs Red Hat
Linux.
Important: It's strongly recommended that you choose an installation option before
proceeding further. Your decisions will affect most of the remaining tasks for planning, installing,
and configuring WML for z/OS.
