Developing and deploying UIMA pipelines

You can use Content Analytics Studio to configure, test, and deploy UIMA pipelines.

UIMA pipelines
Content Analytics Studio uses UIMA to analyze documents and record the results as a set of annotations. A UIMA pipeline is a sequence of one or more annotator stages that run one after another. Each annotator can add to or modify the results from the previous annotator stages to build a more detailed analysis of the document.
Configuring a UIMA pipeline
You can configure a UIMA pipeline file to specify the sequence of linguistic resources to use to analyze documents.
Testing a UIMA pipeline
As you develop your UIMA pipeline, you can analyze sample documents to verify that the expected annotations are generated by the pipeline.
Exporting a UIMA pipeline
After you create, configure, and test your UIMA pipeline in Content Analytics Studio, you can export the pipeline as a PEAR file that is installed directly into Watson Explorer Content Analytics as a system text analysis engine and associated with one or more collections. You can also export pipelines to solutions in a Watson Explorer Content Analytics collection that is based on a solution package, or export pipelines for domain adaptive search.
