You can reduce the time needed to manage your software inventory in a large environment by using REST API instead of the application user interface. You can use REST API to get a list of software products, releases, and release instances. You can also find out how your software can be bundled. The REST APIs return only instances that are assigned to default license metrics.

Important: REST APIs in this section are deprecated. They were substituted by REST API for retrieving software inventory and metric utilization and classifying software (v2). They are going to be removed at the end of 2024. After that period, these REST APIs are going to be unsupported. Switch to version 2 of the REST APIs as soon as convenient.
