Migrating IBM Case Manager V5.3.3 to IBM Business Automation Workflow on containers
Containers:
You can migrate your
IBM® Case
Manager V5.3.3 on-premises production
environment to IBM Business Automation
Workflow on containers in Red Hat® OpenShift® and also to IBM Content
Navigator and
Content Platform Engine. Your existing object stores and content
stores are supported, which enable you to accomplish the migration without data loss.
Before you begin
You must install IBM Case Manager V5.3.3 interim fix 7 with a production environment deployment. For instructions, see the help topic Configuring the production environment.
Before the migration, ensure that the following conditions are met for all the IBM Case Manager V5.3.3 on-premises case solutions that you might want to work with:
- Imported to the Design Object Store.
- Deployed to the required target area or areas.
- Security manifests applied to all the target areas where the solutions are deployed.
The database configured for the global configuration database (GCD), IBM Content Navigator database, Design Object Store, and Target Object Store must remain intact because the same database will be used after migration. For this reason, ensure that the database is available during the migration. If you are using a file storage object store, ensure that you make a backup for the file storage area.
The Lightweight Directory Access Protocol (LDAP) used in the on-premises environment is used for IBM Business Automation Workflow on containers.
Before migration, the administrator must create the Documents Object Store and the application engine object store (AEOS) in the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine (ACCE) on the on-premises environment.
In the Value column of the migration planning table, make a note about the value of each configuration detail. It helps ensure that you do not omit any configuration details that are needed for migration.
