Using the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine

 Traditional:
To administer objects, such as folders and documents, in the embedded content store that is available in Business Automation Workflow, you can use the IBM® Administration Console for Content Platform Engine.

Important: The IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine navigator desktop is removed. Use the ACCE console that is embedded inside the Content Platform Engine.
The IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to administer the embedded content store cannot be used if you have configured Business Automation Workflow to use an external Enterprise Content Management server. You must use the external Enterprise Content Management server's IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine.
Important: You can administer the domain and object store from both a process server or the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine. Do not use the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to change either the domain or the object store settings because your process server will become unusable.

Authorization

To use the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine to administer the embedded content store, the following authorization levels are required:
  • Container-managed authorization (Java EE roles) to access the web application for the administration console
  • The appropriate authorization in the access control list for the content store to manage the objects in the embedded content store, such as folders and documents

Initially, only the user who has the EmbeddedECMTechnicalUser role, which defaults to the deployment environment administrator, can access the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine. The DOC_STORE_ADMIN_USERS Java EE role on the IBM_BPM_DocStoreAdmin application controls the access. To allow more users to access the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine, update the user assignments for the Java EE role.

Only administrators of a domain and object store can change the configuration of the associated domain or object store. After the initial configuration of the embedded document store, the user with the EmbeddedECMTechnicalUser role (the technical user) is the only person who is authorized to change the configuration.
Important: You must keep the users and groups assigned to the Java EE and the technical user roles manually synchronized otherwise access problems occur. To change the technical user in the EmbeddedECMTechnicalUser role, see Administering the technical user for the BPM document store. For information on how to change the application role, see Security role to user or group mapping.

To update the users and groups in the technical user role, always use the maintainDocumentStoreAuthorization admin command and not the IBM Administration Console for Content Platform Engine. For information about the admin command, see maintainDocumentStoreAuthorization command. For information about how to keep the roles in sync, see Administering the technical user for the BPM document store.
