Behavior
To establish a connection from Integration Designer to Workflow Center that allows you to work with the Workflow Center perspective and import a process application or toolkit, you need to specify your user ID and password as well as a Workflow Center URL using an HTTP or HTTPS protocol.
When you import a process application or toolkit into an Integration Designer workspace, Integration Designer attempts to create a process application server in the Servers view to Workflow Center. This server enables you to test your module or mediation module contributions in the context of the process application or toolkit using the integration test client, but you must specify an administrative user ID and password to be able to connect. If you do not have access to these credentials or if you do not need to use the integration client for testing, you can set a preference to prevent the server from being created in the Servers view. For information on setting the preference, see the topic Integration Designer prompts for connection information whenever a process application is imported.

Troubleshooting
If your connection to the Workflow Center fails, you should check that the port is accessible. One reason that the port may not be accessible is that it is behind a firewall.
If Integration Designer cannot add the Workflow Center as a server, you should check that the ORB BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS port of the Workflow Center is accessible. The default BOOTSTRAP_ADDRESS port is 2809 (for standalone environments) and 9809 (for deployment manager environments). If the port is not accessible, the Process Center may reside behind a firewall and Integration Designer may reside outside the firewall.
