You can run the installation program to upgrade from Watson Content Analytics Version 3.0 to Version 3.5. In Version 3.0, the product was
named IBM Content Analytics with Enterprise Search.
The following system configurations are supported. See the upgrade
summary for more details about the supported migration paths.
- Server configuration
- Your Version 3.5 server configuration must match your Version
3.0 server configuration. The following server configurations are
supported:
- All-on-one server with additional servers for search, document processing, indexing, and high
availability.
- Distributed servers with additional servers for search, document processing, indexing, and high
availability.
- Application server
- You must use the same web application server that you used for your Version 3.0 applications,
either the embedded web application server or WebSphere® Application
Server.
- Web applications
- The administration console, enterprise search application, and content analytics miner must all
run on the same application server. A hybrid web application environment is not supported.
User
applications that you created in Watson Content Analytics Version 3.0 are
migrated to Version Version 3.5 and deployed on the application server. The pre-Version 3.5
application framework, however, is deprecated and will not be supported in future releases.
Applications that are based on the Version 3.0 framework cannot use the new features that are
available in Version 3.5, such as allowing users to customize the layout of the user interface,
create rule-based alerts, or exclude unimportant text from the search results.
