Setting up Db2 pureScale alerts

You can use IBM® Db2® Data Management Console to enable and customize alerts for Db2 pureScale connections.

Procedure

  1. Click Administration and select Monitoring profile.
    The Monitoring profile page displays. To modify the settings for the existing profile, expand the vendor that matches your database (e.g. Db2), select your monitoring profile and then click Edit.
  2. Enable historical monitoring.
  3. In the Monitoring profile page, click Alerts settings.
  4. Expand the Availability and Performance alert types , and click the check box to activate the pureScale alert that you want to use. These include:
    • Availabilty
      • Cluster caching facility status
      • Cluster host status
      • pureScale member status
    • Performance
      • Group buffer pool hit ratio
      • Total page reclaims per min
      • Virtual memory in use in CF system
    Once you have your alerts selected, you can configure thresholds for each alert to further refine how and when alerts are displayed.
  5. Hover over the cell that aligns with the alert you want to configure and click Configure alert.
    A pop-up box opens, with options for setting thresholds for warning, and critical alert types.
  6. When you have set your alert options, click OK.
  7. Click Save to save your selections to your monitoring profile.
