Auto-starting Db2 Data Management Console

The Db2® Data Management Console supports automatic startup of service on Mac operating systems. On completing installation, the Db2 Data Management Console will automatically start whenever the host is started or restarted.

Before you begin

The autostart service feature is supported only on Mac operating system. You can find the installation directory of Db2 Data Management Console as follows:
  • Mac script installer: The installation directory is the directory where the installation package is decompressed.
  • Mac GUI installer: In the Applications folder, right-click on Db2 Data Management Console and select Show Package Contents to find the installation directory.

Procedure

You can control the automatic startup of the server by disabling or enabling the service:

  • To disable the autostart service, run the following command:
     <install_directory>/bin/disableservice.sh
  • To enable the autostart service, run the following command:
     <install_directory>/bin/enableservice.sh

Results

  • Disabling the service will not autostart the Db2 Data Management Console the next time when the host is started or restarted.
  • Enabling the service will startup the server if it is not running and autostart the Db2 Data Management Console the next time when the host is started or restarted.
