Enabling Web Response Time to monitor specific network interface cards

The agent typically monitors all network interface cards on the system. However, you can specify one of the network interface cards to be monitored.

To set the NIC using the user interface:
  1. In the Manage Tivoli Enterprise Monitoring Services window, right-click the Web Response Time agent and select Reconfigure.
  2. Step through the configuration windows until you reach the HTTP Monitoring window.
  3. Select Data Collection.
  4. Specify the NIC in the IP address of the NIC to be monitored field.
  5. Click OK.

This sets the KFC_CAPTURE_DEVICE_NAME property to the network interface card after the component is deployed. The property is set inside the following file:

Windows: %CANDLE_HOME%\TMAITM6\wrm\Analyzer\kfcmenv

UNIX: $CANDLE_HOME/tmaitm6/wrm/kfcmenv
