Guidelines
The lldp-hardware-offload command controls how the Ethernet interface responds to Link Layer Discovery Protocol (LLDP) packets.
- When set to
on, the NIC responds to LLDP packets. Having the hardware responding can improve performance. Use only when directed by IBM® Support. - When set to
off, the NIC offloads responses to LLDP packets to the operating system.
Not all Ethernet interfaces on a physical appliance allow you to control how responses to LLDP packets are handled. If you attempt to change an interface you cannot control, the change is ignored.
