Customizing the solution

You can customize the solution to suit your particular operation.

Use the Portal Administration view to customize the user interface. In the Solution Administration view, System Administration, you can customize system properties that affect the system-wide configuration of IBM® Intelligent Operations Center. In the Solution Administration view, Configuration Tools, you have options to customize the main components of the IBM Intelligent Operations Center.

Customizing the solution to suit your particular operation or business includes the following tasks. Customizing is closely related to integrating the solution and the appropriate links are included.

Viewing or editing your user profile
You can view and edit the information in your solution user profile. Edit your user profile to set your time zone, language preference, and alert settings. You can also reset your password and modify your personal details.
Configuring display settings
You can view and edit your display settings in your IBM Intelligent Operations Center user profile.
Localizing the user interface
To change the locale and time zone that are displayed in the solution portal, edit your user profile. If you do not configure specific locale settings in your user profile, the browser settings are applied. The locale and time zone settings that you configure in your user profile override your browser settings.If you do not specify a time zone in your user profile, the time zone defaults to GMT.

Customizing KPIs
In IBM Intelligent Operations Center, you can customize key performance indicator (KPI) models to suit your business processes.
Defining custom actions for data sources
You can define custom actions that are displayed as available actions on the Actions tab in the data source configuration tool. If you assign a custom action to a data source, it is displayed in the More Actions menu that is on the preview card for the data source.
Data item icons
You can design your own icons and upload image files to represent data items in all the views. The image files that you upload must meet certain requirements.
Displaying Cognos reports
IBM Intelligent Operations Center provides a theme for creating reports pages and a reports portlet for displaying Cognos® reports. When you create a reports page, the page is displayed as a view in the IBM Intelligent Operations Center interface.
Adding URL-based reports
You can add customized reports that users can display in the Operations view.
Configuring IBM logos in the solution
You can modify the IBM titles and logos that are displayed in IBM Intelligent Operations Center.
