Planning for installation

To install IBM® Sterling B2B Integrator you must have the appropriate hardware and software for the applications.

Because specific requirements vary with your business needs and system environment, you should contact your Sterling B2B Integrator sales representative to help you evaluate performance and system usage requirements.

Contributing factors include (but are not limited to) the following:
  • Number of transactions processed.
  • Amount of data being transferred.
  • Whether you run Sterling B2B Integrator with or without perimeter servers.
  • Whether your environment is clustered (multiple node) or non-clustered (single node).

The requirements also differ based on the mode of installation. The requirements for a docker installation are different from the requirements for an installation by using the IBM Installation Manager.

Installation by using Docker container

You can use a docker container to install and deploy Sterling B2B Integrator.

Docker is a tool designed to make it easier to create, deploy, and run applications by using containers. A container image is a lightweight, stand-alone, executable package of a piece of software that includes everything needed to run it: code, runtime, system tools, system libraries, settings.

Important: The system requirements for a Docker installation are different from those required for an IIM installation.
