The IBM power load calculator is intended to estimate the typical heat output (watts and BTU/hr) for a specific system configuration under normal operating conditions. The defined environment operating conditions, including temperature and humidity, are available from the Server specifications topic. The calculated power is not necessarily the worst-case power condition that can be measured at 100 percent processor utilization, by running a targeted application, or under abnormal conditions (excessive inlet temperature or hardware failure). The maximum measured power consumption is available from the Server specifications topic.
The power load calculator always provides the estimated heat load for one drawer. For models 9116-561, 9117-570, 9117-MMA and 9406-570 with more than one drawer, multiply the output by the number of drawers.
