Replace the model 570 or 9116-561 service processor cable

You might need to replace the service processor cable from the server. Use the procedure in this section to perform this task.

To replace the service processor cable, complete the following steps:
  1. Align the pins on the back of the service processor cable handle with the alignment holes on the back of one of the system units as shown in the following figure. Using the handle, push the cable connector in place. Repeat the process for any other 570 or 9116-561 system units.

    For assistance, use the following tables as a guide:

    *** The Ethernet hub is optional. You can choose to connect the service processor directly to the HMC.

  2. Reconnect all system power cables.
  3. Start the system or logical partition.
  4. Verify the installed part.
