Accessing Operations Console information in the IBM i Knowledge Center

Learn how to access information about the Operations Console information for IBM® i version 7.1 and 7.2, in the IBM i Knowledge Center.

Accessing Operations Console information in the IBM i 7.2 Knowledge Center

To access the Operations Console information in the IBM i 7.2 Knowledge Center, complete the following steps:
  1. Go to the IBM i Knowledge Center (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i/welcome).
  2. Click IBM i 7.2.
  3. Expand Connecting to your system > IBM i Access > IBM i Access Client Solutions > Console Advanced Topics.
  4. Navigate to the information depending on the task that you want to perform. For information about the navigation path, see Table 1.

    To set up Operations Console Select Planning considerations for your Operations Console installation or upgrade.
    To use service functions (65+21) Select Managing Operations Console > Managing your local console on a network > Using the console service functions (65+21).
    To troubleshoot Operations Console Select Troubleshooting Operations Console connection.
    To access dedicated service tools (DST) and system service tools (SST)
    Note: The information for DST and SST is located under the Security topic in the IBM i Knowledge Center.
    Select Security > Service tools > Managing service tools > Accessing service tools.
    To unlock SST
    Note: The information for locking and unlocking service tools is located under the Systems management topic in the IBM i Knowledge Center.
    Select Systems management > System values > Managing system values > Locking and unlocking security-related system values.

To access the Operations Console information in the IBM i 7.1 Knowledge Center, complete the following steps
  1. Go to the IBM i Knowledge Center (http://www-01.ibm.com/support/knowledgecenter/ssw_ibm_i/welcome).
  2. Click IBM i 7.1.
  3. Expand Connecting to your system > IBM i Access > IBM i Access for Windows > Operations Console.
  4. Navigate to the information depending on the task that you want to perform. For information about the navigation path, see Table 2.
