Getting operating system fixes for IBM i

Learn how to download and install fixes for your operating systems.

To keep your operating system or logical partitions running smoothly, it is important that you install fixes for your operating system code when they are available.

  1. Go to the Fix Central website at http://www.ibm.com/support/fixcentral/.
  2. From the Product Group list, select System p.
  3. From the Product list, select IBM i.
  4. From the Version list, select , select the operating system version and click Continue.
  5. Depending on your selections, you might see additional lists from which you can select specific options.
  6. Click Continue and follow the on-screen prompts.
For information on maintaining and managing IBM® i and related software, perform the following steps:
  1. Go to the IBM i Information Center website at http://www.ibm.com/systems/i/infocenter.
  2. Select from the following options:
    • If you select V7R2, expand IBM i 7.2 Information Center.
    • If you select V7R1, expand IBM i 7.1 Information Center.
    • If you select V6R1, expand IBM i 6.1 Information Center.
  3. Expand i5/OS and related software and select Maintaining and managing i5/OS and related software.
