* RECOMMENDATION:                                              *

CICS uses some of the features in the Liberty profile to run web
applications in a JVM server.  Those that are confirmed as
available for use are documented in the CICS TS Infocenter.
Support for Liberty JAX-RS and JSON features were not documented
as supported features.

    



Problem conclusion


    

  • The CICS Transaction Server Version 5 Release 1 Java
Applications in CICS manual (SC34-2860-01), in chapter 1
"Getting started with Java", section "Java web applications"
will be updated as follows;

Under "Liberty JVM server restrictions" the following 2 features
will be added to the list of supported features:

 o  Java API for RESTful Web Services (JAX-RS)
 o  JavaScript Object Notation (JSON4J) Library

The corresponding CICS Information Center topic will also be
updated to list these supported features.
