PI56329: UPDATING RAD 8.5.1 TO RAD 8.5.5.3 FIXPACK RESULTS IN ECLIPSE P2 RECONCILER ERROR 13

APAR status

• Closed as unreproducible.

Error description

• Using IBM Installation Manager (IM) 1.8.4 to update IBM Rational
  Application Developer (RAD) 8.5.1 to RAD fixpack 8.5.5.3 failed.
  
  This was done using a local repository with downloads from:
  - RAD 8.5.5.3 Fixpack - Download FC link
  http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg24041452#INSTAL
  L
  Same problem, from IBM internet public repository.
  
  
  It was possible to apply the latest Java  for RAD 8.5.x :
  IBM Java SDK 7.0 SR9 FP20 (Version 7.0.9.2)
  using IM 1.8.4
  , but it failed applying RAD 8.5.5.3 Fixpack from a local
  repository
  with the downloaded zips, extracted
  as RAD/{disk1, disk2, disk3 , disk4)

  Eclipse p2 reconciler returned with error status=13, check for
  possible logs in
  C:IBM\SDP-1\configuration for more informatiom

  showed

  It also failed on a previous update attempt with the previous
  RAD 8.5.1 JRE
  The user is an Administrator group  ID
  Symantec Anti-Virus was turned off

Local fix

• The workaround is to first update RAD 8.5.1 to the RAD 8.5.5.2

  After that it should be possible to update to RAD 8.5.5.3.
