Error description
Tivoli Storage Manager Server on AIX platform can suffer performance problems when executing a SAN discovery operation. The dsmqsan process will always run with high CPU utilization. The problem is present only when the AIX system has been set up for the Large Page Environment. It is also possible (but not necessary) to have the following messages present in the activity log: ANR1926W A SCSI inquiry has timed out after 90 seconds. ANR1786W HBAAPI not able to get adapter name. Customer/L2 Diagnostics: A Tivoli Storage Manager Server trace (flags suggested: NA NAHBAAPI NAQSANPIPE SPI SPID ADDMSG) will indicate the SAN discovery runs repeatedly in a loop: 17:37:26.244 [31][nadiscvr.c][2318][NaDiscoverThread]:checkConfig signal received.
