Abstract

IBM Fortran Runtime for Linux 15.1.6.1 has been made generally available for use with applications developed using the IBM Fortran for Linux 15.1.6 compiler or its predecessors.

If you wish to run an application developed using the IBM XL Fortran for Linux 15.1.6 compiler, but do not have the corresponding version of compiler or runtime already installed, then you need to install the Runtime environment package.

Installation Instructions

Review the installation instructions.

Installation instructions

To install the Runtime environment on either little endian or big endian systems, complete the following steps:

  1. Download, and extract the packages. For example:

    tar -zxvf <filename>.tar.gz


  2. Install the packages using the following command:

    ./install

Uninstallation Instructions

To uninstall the Runtime environment on little endian systems, run the following command:

     On SLES, RHEL and CentOS:
     rpm -e libxlf libxlsmp

     On Ubuntu:
     dpkg -P libxlf libxlsmp

To uninstall the Runtime environment on big endian systems, run the following command:

     rpm -e xlf.rte xlf.msg.rte xlsmp.rte xlsmp.msg.rte

In cases where a package is required by other installed packages, that package might not uninstall.

Technical Support

The IBM XL Fortran for Linux Runtime environment is not supported as a stand-alone software product.

If you suspect a problem with the IBM XL Fortran Runtime environment component while using it with a third-party application, contact your application provider for support.

Full support (installation, defect support and general questions) for the IBM XL Fortran Runtime environment component is available with the software subscription and support agreement for the XL Fortran for Linux product.

A suitable test case is required for defect support; review technote 1260804: Test case preparation for IBM XL compilers support for details.

Depending on your application, you may also need to install the IBM XL Fortran for Linux 15.1.6 Addons package. The Addons package contains files that may be required by some third-party applications. Only download and install the Addons package if instructed by your application provider.
