- From 8.0.0.7 onwards the Broker product requires Java version 7 whereas previous Fix Packs require Java 6. The Java upgrade is needed to include support for WebSphere MQ v8. On distributed platforms the product ships with Java version 7. On z/OS you are required to upgrade your Broker's installation to Java 7. Before upgrading you should review all external third-party Java libraries in use by your message flows to ensure correct operation with Java 7. The WebSphere Message Broker Version 8.0 readme contains entries for known issues when upgrading to Java 7.
