Download fix for Security Vulnerability: privilege escalation, APAR JR39769

Download Description

This fix corrects file permission and ownership settings that create a security vulnerability, whereby an unauthorized privilege escalation could occur. This issue affects Information Server Version 8.5 only, on Unix and Linux platforms. Previous releases are not affected. Information Server 8.5 on the Microsoft Windows platform is not affected.

Prerequisites

This fix must be applied to Information Server Version 8.5 and Information Server Version 8.5, Fix Pack 1 on Unix and Linux platforms only.

Installation Instructions

Download the fix from Fix Central and use the standard patch installation instructions to apply this patch on each computer where the Information Server Engine tier is installed.
