Abstract
When you download Tivoli Storage Productivity Center V5.1 installation images, verify that the installation images have not been corrupted during the download process.
Content
To verify the installation images that have been downloaded, run the checksum program to provide a checksum value. Verify the checksum value with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum value. The Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum values are listed in the following tables.
Important: The Tivoli Storage Productivity Center Windows V5.1 zip files are replaced by the 5.1.1 zip files. The associated checksum values and part references are updated as displayed in the following table.
The parts that are marked with an asterisk (*) are common to TPC, TPC Select Edition and, TPC Advanced.

Windows operating systems:
Any checksum program can be used to provide the checksum value of the downloaded files.
Here is an example:
C:\checksum_program download_file_name
where checksum_program is the name of your checksum program and download_file_name is the installation image to be checked.
Verify the value from checksum with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum value.
Linux operating systems:
Run the md5sum command: # md5sum download_file_name
where download_file_name is the name of the installation image to be checked.
Verify the value from checksum with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum value.
AIX operating systems:
Run the csum command: #csum download_file_name
where download_file_name is the name of the installation image to be checked.
Verify the value from checksum with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum value.
UNIX and Linux operating systems:
OpenSSL is already installed on these systems. Use the following OpenSSL command to verify the checksum value of the download files: % openssl md5 download_file_name
where download_file_name is the name of the installation image to be checked.
Verify the value from checksum with the Tivoli Storage Productivity Center checksum value.
