Question
I want to define a new Severity in Omnibus. How can I configure the Omnibus event list to display the new severity?
Cause
Omnibus Severities are defined as 0 (harmless) - 5 (critical)
Answer
To display the new Severity, you will need to add a conversion and color definition for the event list as follows:
Add a Severity Conversion:
1) In the Administrator, go to Visual -> Conversions
2) Right-click a conversion, and select Add Conversion
3) Define a conversion for the new Severity value. For example, add a Severity value 6 with conversion Fatal. Note, the new Severity value should be sequential.
Add a Color Definition:
1) In the Administrator, go to Visual -> Colors
2) Right-click a color, and select Add Color Definition
3) Define an Unacknowledged and Acknowledged color for the new Severity.
Close and open the Event list for the changes to take effect. Insert an event with the new Severity to see it displayed.
