SE74789: RDI 9.6.0.8 CRRDG3002E CONNECTION WITH THE DEBUG ENGINE LOST WHEN TRYING TO DEBUG AN IBM I JOB

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• Using the debug UI in Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.8 and
  trying to debug a running IBM i job may result in the message
  "CRRDG3002E Connection with the Debug Engine lost".  The joblog
  for the QB5SERVER job will show an MCH0601 from program QB5IDEAL
  and module B5SYSSYSSV.
  

Local fix

• Unchecking the "Step into" preference in the debug definition
  can help in some cases.  Also restarting the IBM i machine can
  cause the debug engine and debug server to be started at a
  different memory location that may avoid the problem as well.
