SE70098: RDI 9.6.0 SCREEN DESIGNER MAY SHOW AN INCORRECT VALUE IN THE PROPERTIES VIEW FOR A REFERENCED FIELD

APAR status

Error description

• When editing a DSPF source member using Screen Designer in
  Rational Developer for i (RDI) 9.6.0.4, and examining a field
  with a REFFLD() attribute, the Properties view can display an
  incorrect value for the referenced field. This can occur when
  the correct name for the referenced field can be found as a
  subset of another field name in the referenced file record
  format.
  
  For example, if the referenced file has fields ABC and ZABC2,
  then REFFLD(ABC) may incorrectly show the reference as ZABC2 in
  the Properties view.
  

Local fix

• In the workspace preferences navigate to panel Remote Systems >
  IBM I > Cache  then enable the checkbox for the option "Disable
  caching".
