PH52697: Rational Functional Test highlighting controls in incorrect location on web application using Insert Test Object

APAR status

• Closed as documentation error.

Error description

• User is creating Rational Function Tester (RFT) test using
  descriptive code with find(), in order to get the properties of
  the controls, user is using Functional Test Insert Test Object
  wizard to add the controls from Web application into Test Object
  map.
  
  Noticed that Insert Test Object is able to highlight the
  controls visible up to a particular section in the web page in
  correct location.
  For controls present below that level, the controls are not
  highlighted with red rectangle and getting control name in top
  left corner of the web page, which is causing problems for user
  in capturing the required test object.

Problem conclusion

• Previously, when you tried to add a step in the functional test
  script by using the Insert Test Object option, Rational
  Functional Tester failed to highlight the control with a red
  rectangle. We need to modify few settings on browser.
