PH50648: RATIONAL FUNCTIONAL TEST 10.5 SLOW AT STARTUP

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• After upgrading from Rational Functional Tester (RFT) 10.1.3 to
  10.5. Found following issue RFT 10.5 started way slower than
  previous version RFT 10.1.3. In 10.1.3, once click RFT, it takes
  10-20 seconds to start RFT workbench, while on RFT 10.5, it took
  2-3 minutes to start RFT workbench.
  
  Tried rebooting the computer, it did not help. Computer has
  relatively high system configuration, like 32G RAM and Above
  average CPU and decent disk space (1T).

Problem conclusion

• Previously, when you launch Rational Functional Tester 10.5.0,
  the time taken was longer when compared to the time taken in the
  earlier versions of Rational Functional Tester. Also, running FT
  and Web UI tests, launching Configure applications and Enable
  environments was longer when compared to earlier versions.  This
  problem is fixed.
  
  The fix for this APAR is included in 10.5.1 release.
