PH11142: RUNNING THE WCTCMD.BAT FROM OUTSIDE OF THE <WCT_ROOT> DIRECTORY CAUSES

Error description

  • The following command(outside of <WCT_ROOT> directory e.g. c:\)
    shows error message "The system cannot find the file specified."

    -tool pct -listDefinitions -defLocName WebServerPlugins
    The system cannot find the file specified.
    Definition location successfully imported

Local fix

  • Issue wctcmd.bat command from <WCT_ROOT> directory.
    e.g.
    c:\>cd "C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\Toolbox\WCT\"
    c:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\Toolbox\WCT\>wctcmd.bat" -tool
    pct -listDefinitions -defLocName WebServerPlugins

    When invoking wctcmd.bat from outside of the <WCT_ROOT> (by
    default C:\Program Files\IBM\WebSphere\Toolbox\WCT) directory,
    the error "The system cannot find the file specified." is
    encountered.
    

Problem conclusion

Temporary fix

  • Run from within the <WCT_ROOT> directory.
