IV97448: AN ASSET METER HAS A VALUE AND DATETIME. ENTERING AN IDENTICAL DATETIME AGAINST THIS METER GIVES VARYING RESULTS.

APAR status

• Closed as program error.

Error description

• A Characteristic or Guage meter of an asset has a value and
  datetime.
  If you try and enter an identical datetime against this meter
  you get differing results, depemnding on how you enter the
  meter reading.
  Scenario1:
  If you try and enter the meter reading by clicking on the
  Chevrons next to the Asset field in the Multiple Assets,
  Locations and CI's section of a Work Order (In the WO tracking
  application), then you get the error:  BMXAA2907 -
  Measurements cannot share the same date and time.
  Scenario 2:
  If however, you go to the Assets application and find the same
  asset as above and enter the same Meter Reading from the More
  Actions menu, then the meter reading is entered against the
  asset without any error.
  STEPS TO REPRODUCE:
  ------------------------
  1. Create a new Asset "AS10000013" adding a Gauge type Meter in
  Meters section on Meters tab.
  2. Create a new WO "WO10000183" specifying "AS10000013" in
  Assets field.
  3. Create another new WO "WO10000184" adding the asset
  "AS10000013" in "Multiple Assets,Locations and CIs" section.
  4. From WOTRACK, open "WO10000183" and "Enter Meter Readings"
  and specify "200" for "New Reading" and "17/06/21 0:00" for
  "New Reading Date".
  5. From WOTRACK, open "WO10000184" and select "Enter Meter
  Reading" after clicking "Detail Menu" button located right next
  to the asset in "Multiple Assets,Locations and CIs" section.
  6. On "Enter Meter Readings" window, specify "100" in "New
  Reading" and same date time "2017/06/21 0:00" in "New Reading
  Date".
  7. Click OK then you will see the following error.
  8. Close System Message window by clicking OK and then you will
  see the following error.
  9. Open WO WO10000183 and select "Enter Meter Readings" from
  "More Actions" menu
  10. Specify "100" in "New Reading" and "17/06/21 0:00" in "New
  Reading Date" in the same way.
  11. Click OK and then no error is displayed this time.
  12. From Assets, open "AS10000013" and select "Manage Meter
  Reading History" to see the change was made.
